FOW: Miniatures Painted

 




I finished painting miniatures from my Hit the Beach starter army set. Here they are:

German tanks: I have a tank platoon of three panzer IV tanks, an anti-tank platoon of two 7.5cm AT guns, and a V-2 rocket which is strictly for decoration. However, it makes a good objective for the allies to take.





German Infantry: I have a panzergrenadier company. It consists of two panzergrenadier platoons with panzerschrecks and a panzergrenadier HQ.















Now for the Americans: I have a single parachute rifle platoon. It includes a bazooka and a mortar team as well. I also made a mistake in making the models in that I didn't make a tank company HQ. Instead I made two 4 tank platoons.. I should have made a 2 tank HQ  and then two 3 tank platoons, oh well, excuse to buy more thanks :).

New Game System: Flames of War for World War II

  Hello,  I have been busy with a lot of things and I have been gaming after reading. Last month, I bought a new game system for World War II gaming that is popular with many wargamers. It is called Flames of War and has been around since the early 2000's but it's the first time I have gotten into it. I found the rule book in a hobby shop and then ordered a starter army "Hit the Beach" set from Battlefront which makes the items for FOW. Hit the beach comes with two forces for D-Day, Americans and Germans.  The American force comes with a parachute platoon and up to 8, M4 Sherman tanks with 75mm or 76mm guns. The Germans have 2 anti-tank guns, 3 panzer IV tanks, and a panzergrenadier company. There is also a V-2 rocket model but has no effect on play. Black Powder Rules Battle Report #1 The Battle of Many Mistakes

 Hello, I have played two battles so far between my Dutch and Bavarian Armies. Both I played solitaire for now as I want to learn the rules, record questions that might come up, and share how it went. I'm enjoying it but I think I'll love it when I get to have a player to play with. This is actually my 2nd solitaire battle that this report is based on. I called it The Battle of Many Mistakes because as you will see. I made a lot of serious errors. However, war is like that. I'm sure Napoleon would not have interrupted me if he were my opponent. A note for you. You will see underlined 1's and 6's in the shooting sections. These represent unmodified rolls of 1's and 6's that are always a miss or always a hit.
